Re: "U.S. hunters, anglers lobby for climate bill"

Tom, when you spend a lifetime outdoors (in my case, more than fifty years) you notice things. It's warmer overall, period. And no, I am not talking about day to day weather, I am not one of those who confuse weather with climate. While the total increase, average worldwide, is 1 degree C, the further from the equator you get, the more pronounced change there is. Back when I was a kid it was cold enough each winter to kill off a lot of the ticks. That's not happened in several years. And you have to use ye olde Off a lot more. What we refer too as 'Tiger Mosquitoes" locally were rare back then. Found only in the river bottoms on the hottest summers. But now are common. They're large, hungry and you know when they get you.

Armodillos were a rare sight in those days, so rare it went though the local gossip network faster than curry through your ... well you know. The only rare wildlife spotting news that spread faster was a mountain lion or bear sighting.

I could go on, and on, and on. All the while knowing you'll drag out the "Well, that's only anecdotal." line. While I dislike preaching to the choir, I very much dislike attempting to convince someone who's mind is firmly made up and will not look at the facts presented.

It's getting hotter, and the rate of increase is speeding up. And it's not looking so good for my grandchildren, and their chidren.
