You might want to check out the military benefits a bit more closely if things hit the fan for you at work. Have you checked out the TRICARE program or others? I was under the impression that family coverage for military and retired military was available.

Incidentally, drugs are available at "reasonable prices" overseas because insurance companies are paying unreasonable prices here and elsewhere and can tolerate a few large-volume discounts to make a sale (Canada for example). There are large pharmaceutical companies in other countries. They make most of their money selling to places where the prices are high, not locally.

The theory that the companies should be able to give everyone these prices is like saying a restaurant or other place of business should be able to offer everyone the Senior Discount.

If the government was really interested in making drugs cheaper, the first thing that needs to be checked out is the current approval process, but that's another story.
