All of the statements made are true to some extent or another.

That said, the ease of propagating information has led to so much dis and mis-information being widespread. Lost count of hearing "Got to be true! I done seen it on the web!" a long, long time ago.

Yeah, you need your BS filter turned up to max before you start looking at some of the drek posted on a few of the 1.2 billion webpages that now exist.

Another point, the loss of 'friction' that slows down panics, public rage and current fads. I'm seeing it as not giving people time to think things through before jumping on the bandwagon. But, it also is a constantly changing source of facts, and truth, if you can figure out what is, and is not several tons of naturally processed bovine fodder.
