The "hockey blade" is based on even more tenuous, localized, (and possibly misleading) measurements, and is a primary foundation of the AGW concept. In large scale temperature history graphs, it's tacked on as a single black line. Note from the references where the black line comes from.

The world has been getting warmer - by about a degree - since the Little Ice Age, and manmade CO2 didn't even really exist in any significant quantities until the 20th century.
