I view it a miraculous.
When I drive down the highway or an ordinary street, I see so many acts of dangerous idiocy that I cringe. Almost everybody tailgates. Almost everybody speeds, almost everybody weaves mindlessly from lane to lane, almost everybody is talking on a cell phone. I am amazed that ten times, or even a hundred times as many people don't get killed every year. It must be a major miracle.
And I live in the USA. Compared to Italian and French drives, Americans are pussycats.
