Re: Cool.

Thanks.

DeVore gets highly polarized litmus test marks under "Scorecards" on wiki, but the summaries of his positions seem unusually moderate.

Which is to say, he'll be toast in the upcoming primary. Extremism's infected even the usually relatively-moderate California GOP, and the ads from Whitman and Fiorina both are, so far, straight down-the-line generic rightwing scripts.

As for making the same chart for Box using the Federal budget, no, I won't do that. For the good reason that to do so would be to fall for the crazy assertion that "government ought to be run like a business". No such comparison is possible because it would be an apples to oranges comparison. History has examples of trying it that way. Can you say "Teapot Dome"?

On top of the fundamental differences between the roles of government and business, there's the fact that the personal role of a CEO (executive) is very different from the role of Senator (legislative). That too is an apples to oranges comparison. Fiorina's experience as an executive might be relevant to an executive office like Governor, but in a collegial legislative body, it's exactly the wrong kind of experience to get anything done.

Even if Fiorina hadn't demonstrated gross incompetency as an executive, like I noted she has the style of a CEO, and would be remarkably ineffective in the Senate.
