Singer is quite famous for his marginally-psychotic ideas. And yet, he teaches.

It's interesting that every other species on the planet is determined to infest the planet with itself at the cost of all others. Thank God for competition.

Western culture seems to be the only culture that harbors and nurtures the idea that it doesn't deserve to exist. If these philosophies had been deliberately implanted by our enemies and adversaries, they wouldn't be any more effective. Certainly, in terms of cultural evolution, this seems to be a major flaw.

As far as the big picture is concerned, all humanity has to do to justify its existence on Earth is shove one ten-mile asteroid out of a collision course. See how important a space program is?

Having kids changes your outlook. It's like being 65 years old, and planting a small redwood in your yard.
