My dip fell flat (originally from Comestible Zone)

I can ususally can come up with a tasty recipe on my own.

I tried a salmon dip with canned salmon, chopped green olives, chopped jalapenos, diced garlic, S&P and mayo. It wasn't bad but it wasn't good either. I might try creme cheese and cut back on the mayo.

Suggestions? Criticism?
