Firefox

I've noticed an interesting phenomenon. We deal with medically-related websites a lot (mostly due to my wife's profession), and medical organizations seem to have a horrible disconnect with computer technology. Rarely do their websites work properly, and they often demand obscure or obsolete browsers for correct operation.

A prescription provider I'd like to use (copayment would be less if I did) is a washout online, and I finally got a tech support guy who admitted that they were way out of their depth with IE 8. That's been out for, what now, a year? Never mind any developer versions.

He says I should try Firefox. Is Firefox worth installing just to get at a few sites? Does it play nice with other software under Win7 64bit?
