The way to get out of this mess is to stop trying to "fix" it with "solutions" that have wrecked every nation, state, and city that have consistently applied them in the past. Step one is realizing that there are right answers and wrong answers, and that right now the people in charge are applying the wrong ones.

I wish liberals would worry as much about rabid collectivism as they do about abortion and gay marriage. Abortion was and is widespread in communist nations, but I doubt women in places like that go to bed each night believing that abortion is the most important human freedom.
