Don't fall into the trap.
Robert, and the Democrats, are trying to steer this into the "racism" rut, allowing them to paint over a lot of serious issues. What the liberals are trying to do is use the racism attack to set up a paradigm where it is anathema to connect Hispanics - specifically Mexicans - in any way with the illegal immigration problem. Of course this is inane, given that the vast majority of the problem stems from that group, and the desired result for the Left is absolute paralysis of both enforcement and debate.
It's like trying to deal with crimes committed by the Black Panthers while paying no attention to whether or not any suspects are African American.
