At this point in our country's history, it's pretty much a given that the government has the inherent right to control everything at every level. Now for most of us it's just a matter of whether or not they choose to do so.
Kind of like it used to be with tyrants and kings. The ruler could decide that all houses could be painted purple if he wanted to. He just chooses not to do so. Today.
