I haven't heard one new intellectual concept from "progressives" since they were parked behind tables at the student union thirty years ago and still had the balls to call themselves Marxists.
We've been hearing a lot of crap in recent news about the "record number" of people in poverty in this country. Of course, the population itself is at a record high, which they don't want to bring up in connection with this statistic. The actual poverty rate in percentages is currently 14.3 percent. It was higher in the middle 1980s and the middle 1990s, and has hovered steadily between about 11 and 15 percent since the middle 1960s.
