I've been called pedantic, which doesn't bother me too much, having been a teacher for many years. (Now I have no class!) Pontificating too, is a role I slip into too easily, could be lingering effects from the confirmation by a bishop.
But, and at the risk of stepping into this Flame storm*, I'd have to say I don't think Alcaray has been all that pedantic in this thread, or the one before. Socratic, perhaps; which is okay in my book. He's been asking questions seeking clarification. And Jody, I'm sorry, I don't think he called you a racsist. He threw out those questions about common (and false) questions of our president's heritage, right to be POTUS, etc., in an effort to find out if you believed any of those things, in order to get a clearer idea of your point of view.
* we have a real flame storm here, a wildfire only two miles away. Second one in as many months. Last one was three miles away and much bigger. We are on yellow alert. Not loading the van yet, but there are packed bags by the front door.
