With the recent release of the great film, I re-watched with an eye on agendas.
We won't argue whether there is anything political since Cameron freely admits he was gunning for the Iraq war and environmental abuse.
He says it is not anti-USA and I agree with that. There is imo a deeper message that whether intended or not reflects the ideal world as seen by the ultra-liberal.
The Pandora natives are humanity, not as we are but as the ultra liberal wants us to be, happy, stupid, and well fed. Totally content with a simple life, and simple pleasures. The human invaders are what they appear to be, evil capitalists.
The unseen cast are the producers, directors, and writers as the all wise liberal elite, the protectors and guardians of the Eloi-like masses of the human race.
Cameron on the politics of Avatar
Thank goodness I can put all this aside and enjoy the movie, for the first viewing anyway.🙂
