Obama beats back Democrats to carry Bush tax rates across the finish line
The media is trying desperately to paint this as a glorious Obama victory. Odds are by next month the headlines will be calling these the Obama Tax Cuts.
Extension of the Bush tax rates passed in the House by 277 to 148 votes. Interestingly, the original Bush tax cuts passed by only 230 yes votes.
Democrats also failed to make the Death Tax even more punitive.
Update: The final yes votes were 139 Democrats and 138 Republicans.
