With the help of their media pals, they're trying to take control of the labeling and narrative.
The words "tax cuts" are everywhere, despite the fact that the legislation simply continues the tax rates we've been under for years. The Democrats wanted massive tax increases on the producers and job creators. We haven't "stiumulated" the economy, we prevented the Democrats from further wrecking it.
They're trying to label this as a great Obama victory, ignoring what Obama was originally trying to do. But don't worry, Obama has already promised to return to the premeditated murder of American business in the 2012 election cycle.
There is one technical tax cut: The reduction of employee Social Security rates from 6.2 percent to 4.2 percent. It was 4.2 percent for everybody back in 1970. For somebody making $50,000 a year, this comes out to a savings over a year of about $1,000. The maximum savings possible, no matter how high the income, is a bit over $2,000.
There is also a tax increase: the Death Tax returns again, although not at the more-punishing levels the Democrats wanted.
