"More money = better education"
This myth is among the most pervasive in our political culture, especially here in California. Yet there is no evidence whatsoever that this is true, and plenty of evidence to the contrary. I have previously shown the huge increases in per-student spending in the U.S. over the years, with less-than-glittering results.
