We need to discipline students and parents alike. A hundred and fifty years ago students got a good education but teachers didn't put up with shit--EVER!
My grandfather only had an eighth grade education yet he could do math better than any of today's high school graduates and college graduates (unless they're math majors). He spoke well and he knew history and Civics. Today kids know where to buy MP3's and makeup and drugs.
Maybe teachers should be issued cattle prods or else little devices be installed on students when they enter the school system. Anytime they misbehave, the device is activated to provide excruciating pain. That'd take care of discipline problems.
I feel a short story coming on.
