And it is correct. When I was training in martial arts and my capabilities reached the point where I could kill someone, I had a long conversation with myself. My decision was rationally arrived at and was this: Were I attacked by someone, with or without a weapon, and I felt my life to be in danger, I would RUN LIKE HELL if running was available to me. I'm no macho person. However, if that option were not available, I would kill the person as quickly and efficiently as possible. Any hand to hand fight, particularly when it's male vs. female, is decided in the first 3-4 seconds so a female had better be damned good and damned lethal. There's no room for error.
Thank you, God, that I have never been faced with it and I pray I never am, particularly since I think I've forgotten most of my karate and an in no shape to use it now anyway. I used to have a lethal back kick and spinning jump kick. Now, I can barely bend my knees, thank you, osteoarthritis.
