Smooth start for the knuckle-draggers... NOT

Let's see, the GOP promised that new bills would not be brought to a vote without committee action, without allowing minority amendments, or if it would increase the deficit. Great news! Except they violated all of those promises ON THEIR VERY FIRST BILL: a symbolic attempt to repeal healthcare reform.

Next Boehnhead spends his first press conference as Speaker arguing the hypothetical bias of the non-partisan CBO, rather than admitting repeal of the health care bill will ADD $230B to the deficit.

Next they scale back their pledge to cut $100B from the deficit the first year. Already it is down to $50B for the lame excuse that the "fiscal year will be half over." Makes sense right? Except the fiscal year starts in September EVERY year, as Boehner knew when he made the pledge in August.

GOP's Cantor promised military cuts are off the table, that is until Defense Sec Gates proposed nearly $80B in cuts of wasteful programs. Now suddenly Cantor says "I think most of us have said everything is going to be on the table.” Does honesty count for anything with these assholes?

Finally, the GOP's elevates the Constitution – reading it aloud on the House floor for the first time ever – and then violates same constitution when two of their members, Pete Sessions of Texas and Pennsylvania's Mike Fitzpatrick, make votes without being officially sworn in. Can't blame them for missing their swearing in though - they had to attend fundraisers!
