I posted the numbers on my blog here. You can look for yourself if revenues, in constant dollars, went up between 1981 and 1990. You can look for yourself at the revenues after 2003. The numbers are even more impressive in current dollars.
If I'm following you correctly, your theory is that the revenues went up, but somehow it's a "loss" because you think they would have gone up more if taxes were more oppressive? Sounds a lot like Obama's theory that yes, we lost a huge number of jobs, but we would have lost MORE if not for his policies. An interesting way of thinking, especially since nobody can argue with virtual results.
Judging by the willingness of liberals to turn over a sixth of the economy to the government, they feel there is no such thing as too much government and too much spending, and as long as we keep confiscating wealth and individual choice, we can someday have a perfect society.
This has not worked well in the past.
The socialist dream is dead, Buck. It's dead even in Europe, which is backing away from the welfare state as fast as it can. For some nations, it might be too late.
