P.S. on spending
I have mentioned the rate of government growth many times. I find it a fascinating phenomenon that this seems to make no impression on people who continue to think that taxes just aren't high enough.
I repeat: The Federal government is TWICE the size in constant dollars that it was in 1988.
You would think this single fact would completely gobsmack anyone arguing that spending is not the issue. That it can be overlooked this easily is instructive.
