Obama moved solidly in the middle
Not that our local rightwing spambot will notice, but this speech was as middle of the road as any I've ever heard. A CBS poll showed 91% of Americans who watched it had a favorable impression. Of course there will always be the nut jobs on the extreme right, and left, who will focus on the fact the president isn't way over in their fantasyland.
Just a note, it was the testimony of the JCOS that was the clincher that ended DADT.
