Some of the Wikileaks were just embarrassing for our government and for foreign governments. We do have to maintain relations with foreign governments. I think anyone involved domestically should be charged with treason (if I remember correctly, some military info was compromised). If no military secrets were compromised, then they should be charged with lesser crimes but still get their asses slammed into jail. I think it's extremely arrogant of some asshole to think their judgment is better than anyone else's when it comes to what should be made known. Granted, our government probably keeps more from us than it should. OTOH, they have to be able to operate and that can't be done with total transparency. Might make a good subject for exploration in an SF story.
And the perps trying to take down commercial sites--fry the bastards. I'm sick and tired of hackers and their little games. I suspect they've been after Google because twice now when I've tried to log on to my gmail, I've got service temporarily unavailable messages. Nobody fucks with my e-mail! I'll pull the switch on the shits myself.
