Re: all taxpayers paying

I'll tell you what I told alcaray down below, and what I've posted many times: We used to do a hell of a lot better job educating our kids with a lot less money. This fact seems to be so alien to liberal thought processes that I expect I could post the numbers on their bathroom mirrors for six months and they still wouldn't process it.

I don't know how much worse it could be if the education system were largely private, and free to operate in many new and different ways other than the decades-old system we have now. I do know that the market has done a hell of a lot better job at delivering commodities and services, even to the poor, than the government has. Most of the poor in this country have things like microwaves, color TVs, cell phones, and other things. It wasn't because there was a massive Government Microwave Program. It's because the private sector could make a lot of money selling what used to be luxury items to a much larger population at lower prices. And they did.

The primary function of today's education system is the care and feeding of the union/government education bureaucracy. A bureaucracy that fiercely attempts to destroy any education methods that fall outside its rule. If you're happy with that, fine. Most liberals seem to think equality of failure and misery is preferable to somebody getting something better than someone else. I don't understand that thinking, but I do know it exists.
