I'm not arguing at all with your definitions or categories.
I'm just saying most businesses don't fall into the "leech" category. In fact, I don't think small businesses really have the ability to do that. Large businesses do grow into moribund bureaucracies, but are generally supplanted by newer and brighter ones. It's interesting to compare the Fortune 500 of many years ago with the current one. I still remember SF stories where it was assumed IBM would rule the world, and back in the day of the writing of Brave New World, Ford was the deity.
