That was pretty good. Thanks! Seriously! I bookmarked it for some friends. "Lyrics" here, for anyone who wants to read them. But by all means, watch the movie.

I live in a civilization built by people who aren't Storm. I like this civilization. I don't even mind that Storms by the millions live comfortably in the hammock woven by the bleeding fingers of those who have fought back the dark. There's plenty of room. Heck, there's even plenty of room for beat poets. As long as we leave some room for the ones doing the work.
Where things hit the fan is when you give "Storms" too much power, and then their whims and, shall we say, "stochastic" thinking, gets forced on everyone else. What was an example from today? "Shut down those evil reactors. We can run our country on wind!"
I only wish we lived in a society where everyone could go home with their own opinions no worse for the wear. Not one where, as Will Rogers said, "When Congress makes a joke, it's a law."
^Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded - here and there, now and then - are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty. This is known as "bad luck."
