Re: Re: Re: Curves

TB, you know perfectly well that the Right is just as fiscally irresponsible at running up deficits as the Left. You have mentioned it yourself. The only difference is that the Left gives money away to the poor, and the Right votes themselves tax cuts. Regardless of the justifications (and there are some for both actions) the motives of either side are not totally pure. The only reason I'm not on the Right is because I felt I got my money's worth from the Left's spending, and I never got a good enough piece from the Right's cuts. My interests lie on the left because of the economic and social class I am in. I benefit from their policies.

The massive deficit spending induced by Obama has been done in order to combat the recession, which was definitely an artifact of a Republican administration (if not directly caused by it). Now, his program is a perfectly valid subject for debate, but its success will be judged by history, not ideology. And whether the Right likes it or not, Obama is doing pretty much what we knew what he was going to do when he got elected, what he said he was going to do. In fact, in my opinion, he hasn't gone far enough.
