"I benefit from their policies."

And so do a lot of other people. In a democracy, the collapse begins when those who benefit from wealth redistribution start to outnumber those who pay the bills. On income taxes we are close to the halfway point already.

You don't care. As you said in an earlier post, you've got yours. Odd how many times I've heard conservatives accused of having that view, but the only time I've heard it actually laid out on this board is from liberals.

^"The Left gives money away to the poor, and the Right votes themselves tax cuts."^

Let's rephrase that so it's a bit more accurate: The Left takes other people's money and gives it away to the poor. The Right votes to let people keep what they've earned.

A person who decides that ideas and principles should have nothing to do with politics has given the political realm over to those who do have very specific ideas and principles about how society ought to be organized. This generally has unpleasant results.

I judge all ideologies by history. You don't. Or to be more precise, you won't.
