Seriously, you are right about that.
I live in a middle to lower middle class retirement community, in a city and state dominated by retirees, so my neighbors have class interests that coincide with mine, regardless of their political affiliation. Many of them are barely hanging on as it is in this economy. Some can't even do that. I am well known here, a long time resident and active in community affairs. People listen to what I have to say. I have opportunities to teach and inform.
I am also now enrolled in Kommunity Kollege (BTW TB, did you get my messages about that?) which gives me an opportunity to further expand my circle of contacts and influence. You can think of it as a "force multiplier" for my single vote.
I hang out at the Zone for recreation.
