Or bias.
I think it was a bad call, but that of course is only my opinion.
I saw nothing but civil behavior on that thread. It served its purpose in allowing people to vent about some things that mattered to them.
Larry J and I were in strong disagreement, but neither of us called each other names.
I was trying hard to understand both Mary Anne's and E's side, as well as Tom's side which Larry J decided to champion.
I am more offended by the deletion of the thread than by anything actually said by anyone on that thread.
So may I ask a point-blank question?
What specifically triggered the decision to delete a thread where people were behaving themselves and engaging in polite discourse over a disagreement? Did someone request the deletion? If so, what was the reason given?
I thought 'running away from the battlefield of ideas' was cowardice. Well, the people on that thread were standing on that battlefield and the ideas were being 'flight-tested.' So exactly what was the problem?
An explanation for the act of censorship would be appreciated.
