I didn't read it and missed when the manure struck the fan-blades, but Larry J almost never descends below civility and mutual respect. I do not agree with his politics, but his conduct - that I've seen - has never been less than gentlemanly.

The one exception - in my opinion - was in dropping some unkind labels and remarks on E' and Mary Anne for what he deemed a cowardly retreat from 'the battlefield of ideas.' It's this person's opinion that those things were not necessary and did not help Larry's case at all. In fact, I think he hurt his position with those comments. He faulted E' for what he called a 'snotgram,' and then left one of his own.

Just my opinion.

But if that's Larry J at his worst on a bad day, well, that barely registers on the radar-screen. Especially when compared to the rest of the Web. As others have pointed out, for a Flame Board, this place is pretty tame. Larry J, and everyone else here, almost always acts a gentleman. And, even when there are slips, at the end of the day everyone here remains a gentleman.

I agree with Dan that the entire thread should be brought back, especially since this *is* a flame board. And let people judge the posts on the thread and make the responses they desire. I bet Larry would welcome the opportunity to clarify what he said.

And it seems you've answered your own question already: 'Wrong' is defined by porn and illegal material, in which case it should be deleted. If Robert rules posts here potentially signify trouble for his server, he can then make the final decision for them to be taken down or not.
