But the media must go for the ratings. And people do let media tell them how to think about this stuff.
I live in LA where we hardly have any weather to speak of (not counting El Nino years). It is hilarious to hear the hyperbole of the local weather guys. Once a light drizzle was described as "a storm slamming into the coast!!!"
