I'm ashamed to even be posting here, but this time of year I have little else to do.
Well, since you have time on your hands, what the heck, maybe we can salvage something from your presence here.
I've added a check for under-endowed displays. My display is now set down to 640x480, and the form has more room--full width, and five lines visible in the message box. That's about all a 640x480 display can do. Please let me know how it works for you.
How do you manage to get anything done with such a small one? Apps like my FTP program don't fit, and going back to an average size to do upload the revised script, I had trouble getting out because the display properties form doesn't fit and I couldn't get at the buttons. I'm afraid that 640x480 is dysfunctional in the modern world, man.
I said learn FORTH, not use it. Learning to use it will make you an all around better programmer.
Well, I said, I used Forth, so I guess I learned it, huh? Which makes me an all around better programmer...thanks!
If FORTH is so unsuccessful, why is it still around?
I didn't say Forth wasn't successful, I said it didn't catch on--that is, endure. COBOL was successful, but its time passed, and like Forth it's still around in a specialty niche, as PostScript, and inside some embedded microcontrollers and the like. I liked Forth, and I give it credit for contributing ideas like p-code that endure.
I live on a desert island, use threaded interprepretive languages where appropriate, and compiled inline code where appropriate, don't write scripts in nonsensical languages, and I am passionate about Netscape Communicator 4.7x.
If nothing else, I have to give you credit for a high degree of consistency in your life.
