Hi Robert
Tom is a conservative in Northern California. He can't speak the way he does here in that region on the street or writing letters to the editor of the local papers without risking personal injury and retaliation from the real "zonies."
His newspapers are filled with pure dreck, his governor is Gray Davis. Vouchers were voted down and over 1 million illegal mexicans are his new neighbors every year.
Can't you see? Tom is smothered in liberalism.
His state taxes go to pay health benefits and emergency services for illegal aliens taking away from of his own children.
Of course you are around there too aren't you ;-) On the other side of the political spectrum...so you know all this. Knowing "Uncle Tom's" are lurking there in the liberal enclave must be uncomfortable - especially when your board is the one he frequents to espouse his views.
Tell me the truth...it must be very tempting to put an IP block on a couple of the posters here, eh?
But, for all the time Tom chides Mary Anne about where she lives - Tom should consider moving to Newport Beach (The last bastion of conservatism in Orange County) or San Diego. Of course since the Aerospace industry almost entirely folded up in SD (leaving a ragtag fleet of folks like LORAL and Navy subcontractors) there wouldn't be very much work and the commute would be heck without a private plane at John Wayne Airport or Lindbergh field.
Then he would be able to meet folks on the street and say "God Bless George Bush!" and meet a few folks who would say, "Damn straight!" Instead of bottling it all up inside up north.
The red/blue map of America showed that OC and SD still were red...a sign that Southern California hasn't been entirely overrun - or more likely it has been overrun - but only the overran can vote legally and let out a last gasp of conservatism to try to make things right in the state.
Just my bitter, paranoid, windbag opinion,
