Ummm, hate to ruin the fantasy, but if any of the victims had been armed it wouldn't have helped them... as for armed bystanders, well since no one was able to even see the guy to describe him I doubt they could have shot him...
I lived in texas and quite frankly the people that applied for right to carry arms were the kind you dont want to carry arms...
You have to have a license to drive, you have to meet certain requirements to drive, If you violate rules or are unfit to drive your rights are revoked...you have to register to drive ...There is no reason it should be different if you want to own a device _designed_ to kill...
The idea any of this could have been prevented with less gun laws is silly and flies in the face of the facts... so lets stop this rambo B.S. and admit a guy who shouldnt own a gun got one... and that that sort of thing is a lot easier to do thanks to the NRA...
Oh, and before you leap on me I think you should know that I am not an advocate of banning guns, I just dont think every guy with delusions of adequacy should be able to own one... Most yahoos that buy a handgun have NO business owning one...
Think about it... If I wanted to buy a kilo of cyanide or botulin toxin you would want some checks done on me right? Same should go for guns...especially handguns... not too many hunters out there with a handgun or semi-automatic are there?
