Okay, you now have my complete respect if that matters to you, and an earned apology for going hyperbolic on you and maybe jumping to conclusions too fast. Chalk it up to my experience teaching. I love it (even though I am largely out of the biz), but there is nothing in this world that irkes/irked me more than catching otherwise bright kids being dishonst. This is my bias, and not yours, and I will own up to that.

Never apologise for being rough on me. I am a bare-knuckles debater and have had to defend ideas against (and been sometimes pulverized in public by) 1 Nobel winner and a handful of world class logicians and some pretty damn fine Philosophers. The only thing (as you have noticed) that sets me into a full-on vendetta is personal attacks in an argument of fact or plagiarism/dishonesty. Vendetta is the nice way to put it, as a matter of fact. Like your Vulcan analogy, it can get the better of me.

Plus Rob L. and I get WAY nastier in our private debates than anything we have seen here. He's actually hung up on me a few times.

As to the apology to the board, it was arrogant for me to demand one from you, I don't speak for them. With the history you have here, I am sure you burned few brownie points and lost little or no respect, while I think I raised more than a few eye-brows (not that I care too much ;-) )

So, I think it is settled. I am satisfied, impressed and honored by your assertion and apology regarding the plagiarism. I also offer my apologies for my rather hyperbolic vendetta-like reaction and hot air. For what its worth I offer a firm E-Handshake.
