Amoral Rant

The title wasn't "A moral dilemma " rather it was an "Amoral dilemma".

The hypothetical question was put to "le whipping post de jour" - Bush, after France and Germany had turned their backs on the US.

France had 48 hours to evacuate with the help of their EU buddies. The US has committed its resources to the coming war.

I suppose we should drop everything and come running to the aid of these grape squashers? It’s a little difficult when faced with the task at hand and the fact that the wound between our shoulder blades has not healed.

We asked France and Germany for help. The survey dealt with a hypothetical situation. What the US and British troops will soon face is absolutely real. I know that Larry doesn’t agree, but in my opinion, a broad coalition would be more desirable strategically as well as politically. For every French soldier killed in Iraq maybe one less American would die. And the two counties could share together the grief.

The fight is not just for the Security of the United States alone but we, and a few or our allies, will pay the price trying to make this a safer world. (Yes you morons, ”safer”) Those in Europe that will stay safe at home and watch the war on TV will ultimately live in a world with less fear.

Too flowery? Maybe.

*Would you look the other way if there was a meth lab in your neighborhood? Would you allow them to ruin lives and hope they would go away before your kids got old enough to be approached by those sleezeballs. If we wanted to and the rest of the world was behind us 100% we could win the drug war. The difference is drug use is largely a matter of choice. No one chose to die on 9/11 except the perpetrators.

You can’t eradicate an ideology but you sure as hell can try. After we do what must be done then the McDermotts and the Murrys can take a look at any legitimate remaining issues and grievances.

This what got me started.

I won’t forget it.

As far as I’m concerned, you can change that to Chancellor Schroder and the Eiffel tower.

* Sounded vaguely familiar. I think Tom has used the 'drugs in the neighborhood' before.
