The kid shot himself to protest the unspeakable cruelties to which Arafat had exposed him.
Had always wanted to make a statement to the world, so he wandered out into no-man's-land. Said so in the first grade. Then, when the Israelis went out of their way to protect him, he pulled out a small gun and shot himself three times. His dad was there urging him on.
You're right - there's nothing to do with anyone whose view of the world doesn't include anything not already predetermined, who can't assimilate facts, reality, evidence (not hearsay, not wishful thinking) and has to be told what to think by the likes of Limbaugh, Pournelle and Sullivan.
The biggest lie is that these people typically call themselves "libertarians". Sort of like The Little Monkey saying war is a last resort, or he's interested in peace.
Or that massive tax cuts in wartime is responsible.
A big enough lie and they believe it. The truth - well, that's too unpleasant. Wouldn't want to be contaminated by that. Facts - they "investigate" them, until they can read Limbaugh, Pournelle and Sullivan.
As I said - in these matters conservatives are 180 out of phase. And proud of it!!
(Call themselves "Christians", too. What would Jesus say?)
