You still can't tell your dumb-a$$ from a hole-in-the-ground

Race, Physical charactristics, Genetics and genetic distinctiveness:

A population can be genetically indistinguishable yet STILL have differences in inherited physical *characteristics* (NOT TRAITS!). A certain nose, lets call it the 'Lafonian Nose' that is handed down from generation to generation, etc.

Now, you CAN'T discern within that population (say, all of america) a SUBSPECIES or a RACE of lafonian-nose-people by DNA alone. The same holds for Asians and Europeans!

Now, asian people have a certain set of characteristics, this is true- But throw say 1000 samples of DNA from asians and 1000 samples of DNA from, say, Australian aborigines and you are not going to be able to tell who is who more than 50-60% of the time just by looking at their genome, AS A WHOLE GENOME. That does NOT make for the genetic discernability you need for your claims.

Just so you know, we are talking about on the order of 99.99% genetic similarity between populations. Such a small difference that its nearly impossible to characterize. What you see as genetic difference is really just differences in genetic *EXPRESSION*, not in content.

So yes, when anthropologists talk about a 'race' what they usually mean is a 'certain set of people usually having a certain set of physical characteristics sharing some common cultural heritage or ancestry'. They are NOT (NOT!) talking about race in terms of subspecies, which you seem BADLY confused about.

Now, there *IS* genetic variation between populations, this is true, but this variation is not as significant as the variation between individuals of the SAME population. You CAN define probabilities, in some cases, for what likely region of the earth some person is from, but they are *only* probabilities, not sure-bets. There are some 'genetic markers' (sequences of a few neucleotides) that certain populations TEND (but are not bound) to share. but ALL of those genetic markers can be passed on to other groups (and ARE!). The same thing is true about recessive genetic alleles.

Your notion of race is truely deeply, DEEPLY incorrect. You can continue this discussion or you can READ A DAMN BOOK ON THE SUBJECT YOU IGNORANT RACIST POS!
