Higher reasoning involves more than mere logic, which is a linguistic application of mathematics.
Last night my son and I had a little chat about what goes on here. He came in from work while I was posting my first reply in this thread. As we talked, I kept typing. "What are you writing?" he asked. We talked about it for a while, and he read posts -- a little here, a little there. "I think a lot of these guys come here to vent over stuff they see in the news, especially the Bush=Hitler stuff and like that," he said, "so anything that even seems to support that position is wrong."
He's a very insightful young man.
