I agree with your opinion on civility, but have to disillusion you on the sanction issue. It would be nice if the nations holding the sanctions in place were really worried about WMD (aren't they the same ones who kept insisting there weren't any?) but in point of fact the sanctions are now the last dreg of political leverage they have to try and gain a financial and power position in post-war Iraq.

It will be interesting to see this come up in U.N. discussions as the leftists who insisted for years that sanctions were a monstrous American plot to kill Iraqi babies now have to do a Mach 4 U-turn and begin extolling them as essential, if they are going to remain in opposition to the U.S.

Speaking of sanctions "starving" Iraq, coalition forces have so far recovered about $650 million in stashed leadership loot from various hiding places. One can only imagine how much was smuggled out successfully.
