Just a bit of nationalism. As a Euro your position is understandable and to be expected.
Some believe that Saddam would have been more cooperative if France, Russia, etal had taken a harder line. Actually, I believe we preferred to replace him to establish a strategic presence in the ME. IMO that was a good idea but we will see. Politicians have often managed to screw up the works.
