A fictional character
Gladys Kravitz was the character name of the nosy, unlikeable neighbor of Darrin and Samantha Stephens on the TV series Bewitched.
She was always seeing the practice of witchcraft, which was perfectly real, but could never get anyone else to believe her. Samantha says, on more than one occasion, "Poor Mrs. Kravitz! Sometimes my heart goes right out to her!"
After a while, there was a running gag about Gladys being forced to take her "nerve medicine" to relieve her "hallucinations", which I found rather sinister even as a child. If someone sees something unusual, we medicate them to make it go away. Hmmm.
Odd that you should be compared to her, isn't it? -grin- Perhaps Freud has slipped again!
