Great ground rules.

Leave out the Native Americans, slavery, firebombing, bombing of civilians in the former Yugoslavia, bombing a third-world antibiotic factory, not participating in the Biochemical and Toxins Convention, nuclear test ban treaty, renouncing the ABM treaty, rejecting UN resolutions on money laundering and limiting the sale of small arms, etc., etc., and the US looks pretty good.

(Heck, in the firebombing of Tokyo, after the war was decided, after the US had started winding down the acquisition of supplies, killed 250,000 civilians. That was terrorism. Not sure I wouldn't have done it, and I'd have had to admit it was terrorism.)

If the USSR was as bad as you'd like to believe, their army would have deserted. The reality is, their citizens love their country just as you and I love ours.

I suppose a person could look at a kid and see only a pimple. That's tragic.

The kid will be fine, but that person will never get to know him.
