Of course, I agree that it is an "inverse example" of arguement by authority. The point of a democratic republic is that we all have the right to express our opinions. I found Stein's essay cleverly written and by and large correct from my viewpoint. Me, I'd judge an essay on factual content and then on writing skills, not on the day job of the writer.
