The idea that one cannot comment on something unless one is an "expert" is commonly used, and has no bearing on arguments of this kind. In fact, it sound suspiciously like one of those "logical fallacies." Good grief, are any of us politicians? For that matter, as Scott points out, what exactly does qualify one to speak as an expert on these subjects?
Heck, the Bush cabinet is up to here with political expertise, experience and background, and liberals still think they are idiots, so what's the point?
