What about LA?

The state of LA has legalized concealed weapons and the governor has gone so far as to recommend that citizens carry. This has been the case for about five years.

So far there has been no carnage in LA. They still have fist fights and knife fights and tempers flaring does not always end in a gunfight. There have been a few muggers shot by little old ladies.

Carrying a gun does not mean that reasonable people will shoot it out in any dispute. Reasonable people know that in a gunfight either or both parties may be killed and temper or not they are not likely to escalate the situation beyond reason. This was true in the wild, wild, west and it remains true.

As a point of fact, regardless of legality most would pass on carrying in most situations, just as they did in the nineteenth century.
