Update on the Murray comments. Who cares?

<"He’s been out in these countries for decades, building schools, building roads, building infrastructure, building day care facilities, building health care facilities, and the people are extremely grateful. We haven't done that."

As anyone could have predicted, while Lott goes down in flames for a comment that was interpreted as modern-day support for segregation, Murray, who extolled how great Osama bin Laden--proven mass murderer--was for Afghanistan and why couldn't America do the things he does, gets the usual Democratic "Get Tit Out Of Wringer Free" card. Never mind that her statement about bin Laden's good deeds wasn't even true.

The issue isn't even about what she said versus what she meant (Murray's own statement on it can be found here. Everybody assumed they knew what Lott meant. After all, he's a racist. What ELSE could he mean?

Now the media rises to Murray's defense,* along with everyone else on the Left who is still washing Lott's blood off their hands. Read the article. One would think that nobody in America had a problem with Murray's remarks except the Republican Party or Republican politicians.

Find me one goddam article on Lott that was titled "Lott's remarks draw Democratic ire," or that in any way linked the Democratic Party's hostility toward Lott specifically to the controversy. See how it's done?

I personally am glad Lott is out of there, for many reasons. It's the unfairness of the double standard that chaps my ass.

A little thought experiment--a fictional statement:

George W. Bush: "You know, it wouldn't hurt to study up on why dictators can become so popular. Adolph Hitler was loved by many in Germany. He improved the economy, built up industries, and most important, gave the Germans a huge boost in confidence, and improved their ruined self-image after the drastic defeats of WWI.

Sometimes it seems our government hasn't done a very good job in improving America's morale or confidence in her government."

Okay, boys and girls, how will the Associated Press pick THAT little beauty up? What Bush obviously means in this fictional statement is that dictators can gain popular support in many ways by doing nice things for the people. Like bin Laden. You tell me how this would be treated in the media and by the pundits.

And be honest.
